Exercise

Exercise is definitely a cornerstone of every healthy lifestyle. Physical activity is extremely important for all age groups, as it has a comprehensive effect on physical and mental health. It maintains the muscles responsible for holding the skeleton in the correct position, maintains and strengthens healthy bones, increases physical fitness, lowers blood cholesterol and glycaemia. It also has an effect on the proper activity of the respiratory and vascular system, helps maintain optimal weight, prevents civilizational diseases and improves mental wellbeing. Physical activity means any exercise, i.e. not only sports, but also everyday activities like housework, walking, etc.
Regular exercise benefits our health, including sleep, oxygenation of the brain and other organs, builds vitality, immunity, improves the state of mind, and prevents depression and anxiety. During exercise, endorphins are secreted from the body, which induce pleasant sensations. Therefore, exercise often induces a good mood. It also helps us regulate body weight.
Regular physical activity delays the process of bone thinning - osteoporosis. Exercise prevents cardiovascular disease, lowers blood pressure, and increases the strength and flexibility of the lungs and heart. Exercise also has a positive effect on joints and muscles, as insufficient exertion of the joints contributes to stiffness and weakness of the ligaments, making the muscles become weak.
We should exercise for at least 30 minutes a day at a moderate intensity - walking, recreational sports, gardening, cleaning, etc. for an untrained individual starting with regular exercise. The actual exercise should always be preceded by about ten minutes of warm-up, during which the heart rate gradually increases. After exertion, it takes about 10 minutes for the body to calm and the heart rate to decrease.
Regularity is also important in exercise. Exercise should be evenly distributed throughout the week.
